INDUSTRIAL WINE LOFT
Chapel Hill, North Carolina
An entrepreneur, a boss, a skilled sommelier, a wine experience shop owner; our client relied on us to reflect similar notions in her personal home. As an avid entertainer, we wanted to create spaces that were conducive to her social needs while maintaining tranquil private spaces to recharge.
Having worked in many commercial kitchens, our client was up for using Webstaurant ready-made, steel tables and shelving. The industrial stainless steel components paired well with our clients desire to easily navigate and perform cooking duties while mingling with guests. Switching from entertaining to restoring, her master suite on the second floor provides necessary privacy and seclusion. Her spa bath was created using muted, warm colors to emphasize sophistication and tranquility.
Hearing the neighbors was an issue with the 17ft tall walls in the open living space. Rebuilding was not an option so a multifunctioning art installation was specifically designed to aid in dampening noise transfer. The 12ft X 24ft arrangement turns the wall on to the second floor adding an additional 22ft in length. It’s made up of 600+ individual acoustic panels and mimics a cityscape of subtle colors creating the perfect backdrop.
From suburban country to city chic we transformed this loft into a high functioning hybrid of entertainment and restoration.
